Bahrain Hotels

Manama is the main city of Bahrain and you probably will not stay anywhere else on the island. Most of the Island is accessible in day trips from Manama. There are several options to stay while in Bahrain, from the mega-resort style places to the more reserved and intimate.
We've chosen a few to look through, with our descriptions. Gomideast.com is committed to finding the best places to stay, rather than just providing lists of phone numbers with little content. All links go straight to the hotel's Web site and we haven't been paid to have the hotel on the site (nor do we make a commission - but still let them know that we sent you anyway, they may give you a discount).
All of our hotel choices have the tourist traveler in mind. We've grouped the hotel choices by price, but they all will offer a great stay. For Gulf countries we've added a new category: Gulf High End, which means prohibitively expensive.
There aren't any too many "low" end hotels to speak of in Bahrain. We found one listed below but don't have much information on them, if you do please let us know.
Our hotel picks for Bahrain (with our linked reviews) are:
Gulf High End
Ritz-Carlton Bahrain - Recently reopened the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain boasts some of the most cosmopolitan and swanky digs in the Gulf. The seven story hotel has 264 guest rooms and each room has a great view, either of Manama city or of the austere blue green Gulf. All rooms are designed with luxury in mind and have large sized marble bathrooms, designer amenities, plush bathrobes and everything you'd expect from such a fine hotel.
High End Bahrain:
The Gulf Hotel - Maybe the most understated and enjoyable hotels in the Gulf the Gulf Hotel is worth the extra dollars while not veering into the upper crust cheesiness that plagues many pricey and gaudy Gulf hotels. You can get a full suite at the Gulf hotel, a great staff which is usually very personally interested in your well being, great eats, a gym and spa and fantastic swimming pool.
Mid-Low Range:
Half-Moon Hotel - This is your best bet for the $30-40 range, probably your best bet in that price range in the whole Gulf region. Reservations are recommended through their website below.
Low End Bahrain Hotels:
We also read about one backpacker type place in Bahrain, but can't find any information for them.
They are the Seef Hotel Bahrain, costing about $10-20US a night with shared bath. Located across the street from the Bahrain International Hotel. Their phone number is +973 17 224557 in Manama and they don't have a website.
