Abu Dhabi Restaurant Reviews
Unfortunately most websites offer little information on the real eateries which exist in Abu Dhabi, relying instead on listing only "Western" type restaurants which are mostly chains and mostly cater to those of the slightly more bland, shall we say, palates. Just about every building in Abu Dhabi houses some sort of small and usually delicious and affordable restaurant featuring cuisine from about every place imagineable. Standouts include Indian and sub-continent cuisine and Arabic of course, especially the smaller shawarma type cafes. While some of the larger chains do feature decent food and are typically the only place to get an alcoholic drink with your meal (alcohol is served to the public in hotels and hotel related restaurants only) you are really missing out if you only stick to the big places with big prices. Our recommendations include: Foodlands - for Indian, Asian and Arabic food Foodlands is one of the best and has been for decades. It might seem like an odd combination but this place does it right and their daily lunch buffet is a great way to sample what they have. Automatic Cafe & Restaurant - with two locations and in business since the 1970s the Automatic is one of the best places for Lebanese and Arabic food anywhere in the world. Their cafe is open only in the evening and features one of the greatest chicken shawarmas you will ever have. <<- back to Abu Dhabi main page for inquiries and comments (non-commercial only please): go.mideast @ yahoo.comCopyright ©2003-2010 gomideast.com unless otherwise credited |
