Nicosia
for Visitors

courtesy worldcityphotos
You can walk to the old part of the
city and still see the wall that divides the country's capital.
Apart from the political issues, which,
thankfully, usually remain sequestered behind negotiation table doors
rather than actual social issues, Nicosia thrives as a pleasant and
wonderfully Cypriot city to visit.
Although not on the beach, Nicosia
has a wealth of attractions and some world class restaurants to boot.
And given its less-touristy nature, the city remains steeped and unfettered
in the tradition of Cyprus and Western civilization.
It should be noted that it is able
for the traveler to take a day trip to Nicosia if you are staying at
the beach, but then you would miss the city's hidden offerings. From
a well entrenched Greek Cypriot nightlife, to the unusual Caberets in
the old city, you shouldn't miss spending at least a few days here.

Restaurants
- In the old city, there are some great small restaurants located on
cobblestone streets. The Milano and Milanese restaurants are a local
favorite and very good. Presented here are our top choices for eating
in the city.
