Abu Faysal is the cream of the crop
in Lebanese and Middle Eastern food in Nicosia, and is another hometown
favorite.
Cyprus has a large population of Lebanese
immigrants and some of the best of their homeland has made it over to
Nicosia.
Abu-Faysal has all of the staples,
including a good shawarma, mezze (grape leaves, baba g, hummus, etc.
etc.), and a great amount of kebabs and dinners.
One of their main attractions is their
belly dancing parties on the weekends, and live Arabic music to boot.
The restaurant is supportive of local
painters and is one of the only places in Nicosia showing off local
artists' works on their walls. Look for openings and meetings with the
artists themselves.
