Mount Nebo
A great view and a great side trip after Madaba, this small site honors the purported resting place of Moses and perhaps one of the most amazing mountaintop vistas in the country. A mountaintop church, the Church of Moses, sits on top of this small site which looks West over the Dead Sea and even all the way to Jerusalem. It is here, famously known, that Moses struck the ground and water appeared out of the dry earth. Apart from the great view and the smallish church, there isn't much to do here. One bit of advice would be to travel here after seeing Madaba for a hillside picnic, as Mount Nebo is located only minutes West of Madaba by car (or gigantic tour bus).
