Wadi Musa & Petra
When you go to see Petra, if you are not planning on just seeing it on a day-trip, you'll inevitably be staying in the small and hotel ridden Jordanian city of Wadi Musa (in Arabic the town's name means "Valley of Moses" because of the Biblical Moses' affiliations with the area, also spelled Wadi Mousa). On our Wadi Musa pages you'll find a little info on the best places to stay, within your budget, and good places to grab a meal or two. The best way to visit Petra is by planning at least three days in the area, so that you can relax as you explore the site, and still have time for a cocktail or two in the afternoon at your hotel, or at the bar in the Movenpick hotel, if you're not staying there. It should be noted that the Movenpick has the best restaurants, one of the few bars, a shop selling alcohol, and one of the more reliable atms in Wadi Musa, so you'll probably be there at some point. Hotels: We've picked three hotels that span the various ranges you'd be likely interested in. All three are well kept and very reliable. Read our reviews and find the hotel's contact information at our pages below: Low End - Mussa Spring Hotel & Restaurant Midrange - Peace Way Hotel High End - The Moevenpick Resort Petra
