Damascus Hostel, Syria

Best of the Hostel

one way to enter and exit!

If you’re a student studying Arabic for awhile it’s a great place to stay as I did.  There were about 10 other people also studying Arabic, most at Damascus University, which made every day’s trek to school less lonely (and good study sessions as well).

If you’re not a student and are only in Damascus for a short stay it’s a great place to come to meet people and find out about the best (and worst) things to do or not to do in Syria.

The staff at Damascus Hostel are like your family.  They can and will do anything to make your stay more comfortable.  They are also a family who runs it and will help you with just about everything and anything you need while you’re in Syria, you really can’t go wrong with this place.

ALSO!  they have a ladder and pole to go up and down the ancient walls of Damascus (forgoing the simple 6 minute walk from the gate).  What other place has anything like that?  There is also an electric pulley that can haul up your luggage so you don’t have to carry it through the street.
